Wade & Kristina

Wade wanted to give Kristina something special to signify their *courtship*. He chose this beautiful bracelet that has her two favorite color beads (green & blue), along with three charms. One says, Hope, one says Faith, and the other says, Love. The clasp is a cross. Wade told Kristina that the cross signify's keeping God first in their relationship. Michael and I couldn't be happier with the young man that God chose for Kristina. He loves the Lord with his whole heart and compliments Kristina in such a beautiful way. We are excited to watch their story unfold. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!

Grandparenthood

Today we went over to Chet & Kelli's for lunch and a visit. Quade is 8 days old now and sweet as ever. He is so attentive and soooo strong. He holds his little head up and just stares at you. When you talk to him, he listens and tries to talk back. I may be a little biased, but he is the sweetest boy I know :o) Being a grandparent is such a blessing! We got some good pictures too!

Singing Praises to God

God never ceases to amaze me. So many times He leaves me speechless at His goodness and His love for His children. We are so unworthy, and yet, in His infinite goodness, He chooses to bless us anyway. Thank You, dear Lord for Who You are, and for all You do.

I will extol You, my God, O King;
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And His greatness is unsearchable.
One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty,
And on Your wondrous works.
Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts,
And I will declare Your greatness.
They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness,
And shall sing of Your righteousness.
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion,
Slow to anger and great in mercy.
The Lord is good to all,
And His tender mercies are over all His works.
All Your works shall praise You, O Lord,
And Your saints shall bless You.
They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom,
And talk of Your power,
To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts,
And the glorious majesty of His kingdom.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
~Psalm 145:1-14~ (NKJV)

When the Lord All-Powerful makes a plan,
no one can stop it.
~Isaiah 14:27~ (NCV)

For I proclaim the name of the Lord:
Ascribe greatness to our God.
He is the Rock, His work is perfect;
For all His ways are justice,
A God of truth and without injustice;
Righteous and upright is He.
~Deuteronomy 32:3-4~ (NKJV)

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord
~Jeremiah17:7~ (NKJV)

Quade's Homecoming

Thanks to all the people who prayed for Quade. Today him and his momma were released to come home from the hospital. We are so thankful all is well. Thank YOU, JESUS!!

Here Quade is with his favorite nurse. As you can see by the expression on his face, he is happy to go home :o)

We serve an AWESOME God!

  ~Wade & Kristina, Leighton & Kaitlyn~
Many years ago, when Kaitlyn and Kristina were just 4 & 5, they prayed that someday God would send them brothers to marry. They were very specific in their prayers. They wanted these brothers to love the Lord their God with all their hearts, minds, souls, and strength. They wanted them to be farmers, and live close to one another so they could work together and raise their children together. And now, the Lord has answered the prayers of two sweet sisters. They are both courting wonderful, godly young men who not only love the Lord, and their families, but are also farmers and will live close by each other. We are in awe of HIS goodness and HIS love for us. Thank You, Jesus!

God's Perfect Timing

We, as a family have seen God answer our prayers on many occasions. Sometimes, He has answered just as we had prayed. Other times, He answered in a totally different way. We have been (and are), in awe at the way God answered our latest prayer as we sought a Godly husband for one of our daughters. We were very specific in our prayers and God answered our prayer in every detail. However, we would have never dreamed that her perfect match would have been 1530 miles from us and that they would meet via the internet. Never put God in a box, His plans are far beyond what we could ever think or imagine!

God made a way for us to travel those 1530 miles to meet this young man and his family. The moment we all met, our families were connected in heart, and in spirit. We felt an instant love for one another that can only come from God. We spent a week with them, working, laughing, fellow-shipping, praying, and bonding. It was an amazing time, one we will never forget. We see God's Hand in every step. There is no way we could have ever orchestrated such a beautiful thing. All praise and glory goes to God alone.

I don't know about you, but I tend to be an impatient type of person sometimes and like things done in my own way and in my own time. Are you waiting for God to answer your prayers right now? Does it seem like your hopes and dreams are never going to be fulfilled? We’ve always taught our daughters, to trust God and wait patiently for HIS best. When we step out ahead of God, it almost always ends in disaster.

Sometimes it's hard to understand why God doesn't allow things to happen straightaway. An important lesson that I am continuing to learn each day is that God works things out in his own perfect timing. Trusting in God, I believe is the key to success and happiness in life.

Whatever the issue you are facing, first bring it to the Lord in prayer. Is it really what He wants you to be hoping for? Psalm 37:4 tells us ...'Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.'

Wow, What an amazing promise! If you delight yourself in God he will give you what you want, that is the desires of your heart. Don't get me wrong, He isn't going to start giving you the best cars, the nicest house, and lots of material things, because God isn't concerned with those things. He wants you to 'delight' in Him, ie; to seek Him and to love Him and spend time with Him in prayer and Bible study. If you are seeking after God in this way, the desires you'll have will be to serve him and to always live according to what the Bible says. It is important that you trust in God's word and not rely solely on your feelings, for example, God won't give you the desire to court or marry a non-believer ... 2 Corinthians 6:14 ..'Do not be yoked together with unbelievers'.

God has promised to give you the desires of your heart, but it may take a while for those desires to come to fruition. Psalm 37 goes on to say ...

'Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.' (NIV).

Commit your hopes and dreams to God. The most important point to remember is that God loves you. You are His child and He wants the best things for you.

God will work things out in your life if you trust in him. It is possible that you may have to go through certain trials and wait for his answers ... 'And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.' Romans 8:28 (NKJV).

God has plans for your life. He knows everything about you. He made you. He loves you, as the following selection of verses from Psalm 139 confirms ...

'O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.'

Remember, God has plans for your life and wants the best for you. He allowed his Son to die so that your sins could be forgiven. In Jeremiah 29:11 is says ... 'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'

The hope and promise that God gives us is that one day we will spend eternity with Him in Heaven. This life on earth is temporary. What an amazing hope this is. But for now while we live on earth we need to seek after God and wait for God's perfect timing.

'But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.' (Isaiah 40:31) (NKJV).

Wait on the Lord. Be patient. Trust in God's perfect timing and He will answer you. Then you will hear him directing you

'Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it.' (Isaiah 30:21)

We need to wait on the Lord and trust that his perfect timing is best. God's word warns us not to try and speed things up and do things in our own strength ... 'There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.' (Proverbs 16:25)

There is a right time for everything. A right time to get married, a right time to have a baby, a right time to do everything. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says ...

'There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.' (NIV).

God's answer to your prayer may be to wait for a time before He gives you your desires. Every gift that comes from God is worth waiting for. In the Bible, there are lots of examples of God providing women's deepest desires. In 1 Samuel we read how Hannah wept and prayed out of great anguish before the Lord for a child and God answered her prayers. In the book of Esther we read how God called Esther to a position of influence for 'such a time' and used her to save the Jewish people.

Habakkuk 2:3 tells us ...'For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.'

Waiting on God is sometimes hard, but so worth it in the end. Continue to seek His face. Trust me, when the Lord starts working, the devil will come with all sorts of ways to get you to take your eyes off God. Satan will try to plant seeds of fear and doubt. He is the father of all lies. (John 8:44) Keep pressing into God and He will reward those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

So in conclusion, be encouraged. Wait patiently on the Lord. Trust in God and He will work things out in your life. God will use you as you are, if you make yourself available to Him. Talk to God today and ask Him to give you the desires of your heart. If it helps write your prayer down and keep it somewhere safe. Then in time, look back at your prayer and reflect on God's amazing provision for you. God is faithful, trust in Him and His perfect timing. If God says move, move. If God gives you the green light, GO! Don't fear, Trust Him. You won't be sorry you did. He knows what is best. Don't let fear hold you back. If God brings you to it, He'll see you through it.
